StockEagle Bring Database
up-to-date
This function is only needed for the initial database update or when you have missed
one daily closing procedure.
Every day many changes occur:
1. Prices change
2. Volume changes
3.. IPOs (see IPO Scan)
4. Stock Splits (see Split Scan)
5. Symbol Changes (see Symbol Change Scan)
6. Number of common shares change
7. Averages change
8. Highs (All time/5/10/20 day, 52week) change
StockEagle will automatically update all these item at the end of the day in StockEagles daily closing procedure.
We suggest that you let StockEagle complete this daily close process for approx. 10
minutes;
which starts automatically anytime between 4:16PM and 9:00AM (New York Time).
Simply keep the Scan View open during that time period and StockEagle will start the
automatic
day close process whenever the minute changes.
If this update is missed even by one day StockEagle will have inaccurate data and
some Studies will yield possibly wrong results. To correct this situation
either download the current/new database from the StockEagle web site(included in the
regular package)
or click the "Bring Database up-to-date" button and let is run for a few hours during
off market time!
Be carefull not to exceed your datafeed bandwidth - check with your broker!
The cutoff price in StockEagle is $5 under which the stock will not be available or
used in any study.
Currently there are approx. 5000+ stocks actively traded and stored in the StockEagle
database.
We recomend to start StockEagle at least 15 minutes before the market opens (9:15 NY Time)
to allow StockEagle to prepare the new trading day automatically (Reset accumulative
values etc.)
or to complete the day close from the previous day!
StockEagle will also automatically detect if a new trading day has started and
perform the day open process anytime after 9:40:
Resetting accumulative values
Loading Day Open/High/Low prices
All the messages during these automatic processes are written to a log file
(StockEagle.LOG)
and can be viewed using the "View StockEagle Log" function.
So usually you would not need this function to start manually.
