Demo Futures (ES EMIni SP500) (1 Minute)

Download: WMV MP4
In this demo we are using one of the most liquid futures contracts -  the EMini S&P 500 contract (Symbol ES) - reflecting the US S&P 500 Stock Index!

Trading the ES futures with one contract - one "point" price change - from 1900.00 to 1901.00 - equals a gain of $50.00 (minus fees - usually $6.00);
One "point" also equal to 4 "ticks" - a "tick" is the smallest trading price change increment: 1900.00 to 1900.25 to 1900.50 to 1900.75 to 1901.00 etc.

In this demo we use ONE contract, but in actual trading you can use actually 2 or more contracts!

We start the Demo for ES by simply selecting "Demo(ES)" from the Source menu in the top left Replay Control::
Start (8:00):
This will load the "ES" EMini SP500 demo data - starting at initial sample bar - from Oct 10, 2014 at 8:00 AM (EST):
Bar Updates (8:06):
The demo will automatically send new bars as shown in the "Bar/Price Updates" Box and the chart:
(Example: new Bar#128 at 8:06 with a close of 1923.00 as shown in the Chart)

Short Entry Request (8:10):
The Demo initiates at 8:10 a short entry request at a limit price of 1925.00.
As long as we are waiting for the short entry- the "Short" button is blinking:

The requested limit price of 1925.00  - is shown:
a) In the Chart with the red dots
b) in the "EntryPrice" box - "1925.00"
c) in the Position Box at the top: "Wait S1925.00"
d) In the Message Box: "Starting to wait for Short entry at: 1925.00"

Ending Short Entry  (8:22):
The Demo stops at 8:22 the short entry request (the spike to 1924.00 did not go high enough for the short entry to get hit):

Aborting the short entry also stops the blinking of the "Short" button.
New Long Entry Request (8:25):
The Demo initiates at 8:25 a long entry request at a limit price of 1917.50.
As long as we are waiting for the long entry- the "Long" button is blinking:

The requested limit price of 1917.50  - is shown:
a) In the Chart with the light green red dots
b) in the "EntryPrice" box - "1917.50"
c) in the Position Box at the top: "Wait L1917.50"
d) the Message Box shows: "Starting to wait for Long entry at: 1917.50"

Long Entry price hit - Opening new Long Position (8:32):

The Simulator indicates that we are on a [Long] Position via:
- The "Position Bar" on the left edge is activated - showing the current position details (Long+1, Gain of 5 Ticks, Entry 1917.50)

- Position Size (Example: "Long +1")
- Entry Price (Example: "Entry: 1917.50")

Monitoring the new Long Position (8:37):
As the Bar updates come in - the Simulator monitors the position and checking if the StopOut(20 Ticks) or Target(20 Ticks) has been hit.
Because we are now in a position - the color of the green dots changed in the chart from light green to olive!
Notice how we came close to the target - as shown by the max gain black line in the Position Bar!
To make the performance results realistic - the price just touching the target is not enough - see "FillOnTouch" configuration setting!

New Short Entry Request (8:40):
The Demo initiates at 8:40 a short entry request at a limit price of 1928.00.
As long as we are waiting for the short entry- the "Short" button is blinking:

The requested limit price of 1928.00  - is shown:
a) In the Chart with the red dots
b) in the "EntryPrice" box - "1928.00"

Short Entry price hit - Opening new Short Position (Feb 25th, 2014):
On Feb 25th, 2014 the requested Short entry at 240.00 is hit and the Simulator opens a new Short Position!
The Simulator indicates that we are on a [Short] Position via:
- The "Position Bar" on the left edge is activated - showing the current position details (Short-20, Loss of 3.333%, Entry 240.00)
- The "Exit Details" controls are activated - were you can adjust the Position managements and close/reverse the current position
- The "Entry Details" controls are de-activated - we are now IN a position and do not need the entry controls.
- The Message Box shows: "Opened new Position: 20 Short Entry=240.00 Symbol=TSLA"

Monitoring the new Short Position (Mar 14th, 2014):
As the Bar updates come in - the Simulator monitors the position and checking if the StopOut (20%) or Target(15%) has been hit.
Because we are now in a position - the color of the green dots changed in the chart from light green to olive!
Notice how we came close to the target - as shown by the max gain black line in the Position Bar!

Reversing the Position: Short to Long (Mar 23rd, 2014):
The Demo initiated a position reversal - in our case from short to long - on Mar 23rd, 2014.
You can do that by manually by clicking the "Reverse" button!
The Simulator indicates the reversal and that we are in a [Short] Position via:
- The "Position Bar" on the left edge is activated - showing the current position details (Long+20, Loss of 0.277%, Entry 212.96)
- The "Exit Details" controls are activated - were you can adjust the Position managements and close/reverse the current position
- The "Entry Details" controls are de-activated - we are now IN a position and do not need the entry controls.
- The Message Box shows first: "Closed Short Position at 212.96, $540.80 Gain Volume=20"
The Message Box shows next:  "Opened new reversed Position: 20 Long Entry=212.96 Symbol=TSLA"

Monitoring the new reversed Long Position (May 13th, 2014):
As the Bar updates come in - the Simulator monitors the position and checking if the StopOut (20%) or Target(15%) has been hit.
Because we are now in a position - the color of the green dots changed in the chart from light green to olive!
Notice how we came close to the target - as shown by the max gain black line in the Position Bar

Exiting the new Long Position (Aug 6th, 2013):
Finally our target of $244.90 (15%) has been reached and crossed! and the Simulator closes our long position!
The Simulator indicates that we are flat again via:
- The "Position Bar" shows just only the "Flat!" message
- The "Entry Details" controls are activated again - so you can setup the next entry
- The "Exit Details" controls are de-activated - we are now flat and do not need the entry controls.
- The Message Box shows: "Closed Long Position at 244.90, $638.80 Gain Volume=20"
