Display
Modes:
At one glance you can see each
position in your portfolio - using three essential display modes:
Local Mode(Percent %): | how far each position is towards the individual target price (+100%) or stop price (-100%) |
Global Mode(Percent %) | Use the same global percent(%) scale for all positions |

Add a new Postion:
To add a new position:
Simply right click anywhere and select
"Add new position" from the popup menu: |
The "Add new Positon" appears -
enter the symbol of the new position
- example AAPL: |
Enter the number
of shares: positive for long positions(200) or negative for
shorts(-200) |
Enter the entry price
or average price of this new position: |
Enter the target price
of this new position - leave or modify the default target price: as you leave the entry price box - the target price box is automatically calculated - using the current target Range % (4%) In this example the entry price of 100.00 plus 4% yields to a target price of 104.00. To use a different target range %: a) adjust the target Range % b) empty the target price c) go to the entry price box d) hit TAB or leave the entry price box e) new target appears |
Enter the stop price of
this new position - leave or modify the default stop price: as you leave the entry price box - the stop price box is automatically calculated - using the current stop Range % (4%) In this example the entry price of 100.00 plus 5% yields to a stop price of 95.00. To use a different stop range %: a) adjust the stop Range % b) empty the stop price c) go to the entry price box d) hit TAB or leave the entry price box e) new stop appears |
Confirm the new position by clicking on the "Add" button. To NOT add the new position click the Cancel button |
Selecting a
Position:
Just move the cursor to the position - big blue rectangle - you want to select:
The current position is indicated by the black arrow next to the symbol or the blue box around the symbol |
You can change the selection from the triangle to a blue
box around the symbol: a) File/Confguration b) click on "ShowTriangle" c) Select "NO" (or "YES") |
Select the position you want to modify (see above how to select) |
simply double click |
-or- right click and select
"Modify Position: xxx" |
The "Modify Position" box appears: |
Now change any of the values and click on the "Modify" button |
You can manually increase/decrease the number of
shares, but for a [partial] close of a position - we recommend using the "Close Position" option. |
Close a Position (Full or partial):
Select the position you want to modify (see above how to select) |
Right click and select
"Close Position: xxx" : |
The "Close Position" box appears: |
Exit/Close Price: By default the current price is shown as the closing price, modify the price to the actual closing price |
Exit/Close Date: By default the current date and time is shown as the closing date & time, modify the closing date & time to the actual closing closing date & time |
Exit/Close Shares: By default the full number of shares of the position is shown Full exit: a) leave the full number of shares, which will closing of the entire position and remove the position from the portfolio display Partial exit: reduce the number of shares to the partial close (always positive numbers also for shorts), which will keep the position in the portfolio display - showing the reduced shares. |
Automatic Trade Recording: Each time you close a position - it is automatically recorded into the trading history |

Location: The trading history CSV spreadsheet file is located in the home folder: C:/Database/RTPM/{PortfolioName}_History.csv So if for example your portfiolio name is "Live" - then the trading history for that portfolio would be in: C:/Database/RTPM/Live_History.csv |

Using the Trading Performance Analyzer
(TrdPerfAna): The history file is compatible with the Trading Performance Analyzer (TrdPerfAna) - install from Simply right click on the History CSV file and select PosAna (short for Position Analyser - TrdPerfAna): Which will automatically open the Trading Performance Analyzer and convert the history data and open the your performance view etc: |
As you move the cursor within
the position bar display - the price and details of that point is shown: a) At the top portfolio stats line b) In the "Postion Detiols" tooltip box c) Show a Blue Line at the cursor price position |
Right click and select
"Close Position: xxx" : |

Import Portfolio:

Yahoo - My Portfolios To import your Yahoo Portfolio: a) Open your Yahoo Portfolio page b) Select the Portfolio you would like to import c) Click on the "Performance" Tab - for more detailed info - and and highlight the header and portfolio details as shown below: d) Right click on the selection and Copy -OR- hit Ctrl+C (Sample: Import_Yahoo.txt) e) Select File/Import from Yahoo and the new portfolio will be generated f) Save the new portfolio with your name: File/Save As |
